How America’s most disruptive mobile company is using DevOps to slay the competition.

So how does an innovative company like T-Mobile look to its IT organization in to drive the agility they need to remain at the top of their game?

Jason Bloomberg reports for Forbes that T-Mobile came to the realization that they can’t beat AT&T and Verizon when it comes to spending money, but they understood that they can make up for that by being more Agile and lean.

tmobile-e1434994933600So T-Mobile has begun adopting DevOps to build and deliver their software, only they don’t call it DevOps, the reason for that is that people were uncomfortable with the term ‘DevOps’ because they were under the impression that it meant developers doing operation. Instead, they prefer terms like ‘continuous delivery’ and ‘Agile methodology.’

Regardless of what they call it, T-Mobile’s approach to building and delivering software rests on four pillars: standard, automated configuration of management processes, service virtualization, automated deployment environment management, and automated testing.
