Filemaker was ahead of its time. Apple designed Filemaker as one of the first database tools to help business users utilize technology to solve problems on their own. Today, we call this growing phenomenon, the ‘Citizen Developer.’
As the prevalence of smart phones has increased, enterprise organizations have increasingly turned to apps as the primary interface between users and their data. With it’s deep connection to Apple’s IOS platform and a heritage of what is now called no-code, Filemaker provides citizen developers with the simple ability to create and deploy both web-based and IOS apps.
While not expressly marketed towards enterprise organizations, Filemaker offers surprising technical capabilities, deep integration options and a solid security posture without sacrificing its trademark ease-of-use. It is worthy of consideration for any enterprise looking for a mobility-focused no-code environment.
