Attunity Update: Delivering Enterprise Agility via Data Integration

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last spoke to the team at Attunity, they were in the midst of their transition from a data replication company into one focused on modern data integration. Today, the company is what it calls a modern data integration platform. The core of the company’s ethos is that in a world that demands that organization transform and innovate their business processes and operational models, information and data will be at the center of everything. This reality means that the ability to get data wherever you need it, whenever you need it will be essential to creating the type of business agility that organization now require.

The company believes that it is the universal, real-time, hybrid data delivery platform that enables organizations to do just that. According to the company, traditional approaches to data integration are now struggling because of the number of data sources needed to support the complex needs of the enterprise. In many cases, the company contends, organizations need to pull in data from hundreds or even thousands of data sources to meet the needs of modern analytics and streaming application workloads. Modern analytics such as those driven by artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, streaming applications, and the like, are all taxing the traditional approaches to data integration.

The company’s differentiator is its approach to managing data integrations by dealing only with the changes made to data and creating what it calls change streams using Change Data Capture methodologies the company developed years ago. The company’s platform uses these change streams as the foundation and then delivers them to a wide array of data receivers such as traditional databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming data applications. The company also manages these data change streams at the metadata level, enabling organizations to refine them for analytics use cases. By creating these change streams and managing integrations at that level, the company believes that it can help enterprises manage their increasingly complex data infrastructure and enable the agility they need to leverage their data dynamically to meet ever-changing business demands.
