Skuid Update: Putting People at the Center of the App

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

Since we last spoke with Skuid in August 2018, the world of low-code application development platforms has evolved. At the time, the company was heavily focused on easily connecting and bridge enterprise systems to create fluid and integrated application workflows. The company’s platform still excels as this essential need, but the rest of the low-code market has also recognized it and has largely followed suit. As it has, however, Skuid has been evolving as well and now sees itself as less of a low-code platform and more of a people-centric tool that enables business users to develop apps that change as their needs shift.

The company remains ensconced in the Salesforce ecosystem, running natively in either of its interfaces. Because of its close integration, customers can use the platform to extend Salesforce’s functionality, customize it, and build completely independent apps that sit on top of the broader Salesforce data model and ecosystem. That said, the platform is also extensible far beyond Salesforce with full support of REST APIs.

The company’s focus, however, remains on making it easy for business users to develop and iterate quickly, with a heavy emphasis on both aesthetic design and broader design-centric principles. This combination results in applications that are easy to build, look professional and cohesive, and are user-centric by default.
