Salto: Git control of a salty graph of SaaS

Salto de-risks data integration and simplifies custom business workflow development efforts atop a wide array of abstracted SaaS apps and cloud-based data services.

The average mid-sized company leverages dozens of SaaS apps to get work done, and you might mistakenly think of them all as separate portals that can at best be stitched together by data transfer utilities and simple processes or bots.

Salto posits that the configuration and interdependency of so many services creates problems that are very similar to the integration of heterogeneous API-driven microservices in cloud infrastructure, which calls for better governance of work processes, just as we already do for code and infrastructure.

Starting out as an integration glueworks between famous SaaS platforms like Workato, Netsuite, Salesforce, Workday, Hubspot and others, Salto found a market seam by offering a simpler declarative (or low-code) interface for abstracting and stringing together processes atop its own SaaS configuration data graph, with a sophisticated DevOps-style pull request, diff comparisons and version control process for each change.

Pretty salty.  [Analyst note: Forgive the puns, I had to – they even call their configuration language ‘NaCl’ after all!]
