OpenBots addresses an elephant-in-the-room issue of RPA (robotic process automation), offering an automation creation suite and bot orchestration platform without the ever-increasing per-bot costs.
The firm started out as expert automation consultants using the current market leading RPA tools, and noticed that while most enterprise projects started off with a quick spike in ROI, incremental licensing fees would eat into long-term customer value and utilization.
Aiming for feature parity with the big guys, from UI capture and editing studio, to document processing, integration hooks and process discovery inputs, much of this company’s growth will depend upon educating and enabling partners and practitioners with right implementation methodology, since they charge for SaaS usage and support of their platform rather than individual bots.
If customers can realize multiple step-factors in cost savings at enterprise scale without incurring massive rework and maintenance overhead, this automation option is worth exploring. (Analyst note: The OpenBots platform and bot code is not open source software, though the vendor mentioned it is based on open core components.)
