Since our initial coverage of vFunction in 2021, they’ve made growth strides in the market by flipping the equation of cloud modernization on its head, by refactoring legacy Java monoliths into cloud-native-ready microservices architectures.
Aside from announcing new funding and some native hyperscaler migration capabilities, the big news now was their vFunction Assessment Hub product, with an applied AI that identifies the root causes of code and legacy infrastructure entanglements, providing a report that measures the anticipated difficulty and technical debt reduction to be achieved by breaking apart existing silos.
“Given the complexity and interdependence of today’s multi-layered application estates, CIOs and technology leaders need to prioritize their modernization efforts before they start pulling on threads that can unravel further complexity,” Intellyx Principal Analyst Jason English said in the release, quoting himself here in the third person. “The vFunction Assessment Hub provides an ideal entry point for evaluating the ROI of breaking down legacy monoliths and decoupling dependencies, so refactoring efforts can be better aligned with business goals.”
