Many of my IT and business colleagues out there would never consider trusting Excel as a source codebase. But looking closely, almost every company still uses spreadsheets somewhere within their critical business processes. Many of them are de facto systems of record, containing millions of formulas and supporting thousands of end users.
Coherent’s Spark solution ingests Excel files, tagging and reloading the inference logic into stateless API services ready for deployment as WASM apps that run just about everywhere. Time-series state data and auto-generated test suites are included to allow auditability of the success of each new spreadsheet-to-app translation or update caused by the changes to the source file.
Complimentary solutions include low-code platforms and cloud data lakes/warehouses that would benefit from Spark’s quick, accurate porting of humongous .xls files into business logic and data to make use of these important but underestimated assets.
