Article for The New Stack by Darryl Taft
(In which Darryl reports on the new API spec language developed by Microsoft)
“TypeSpec looks like a great simplification and productivity tool for Typescript developers who find themselves bogged down with the level of work involved to manually create and maintain Open API specs,” said Eric Newcomer, an analyst at Intellyx. “It offers variables, macros, and functions for dynamically assembling and updating Open API specs.”
Moreover, Newcomer noted that, “The Open API spec has become widely adopted as the standard way to define an API, but it can be challenging to create and maintain. Some vendors offer design and prototyping tools to simplify the process, or low code UIs that offer drag and drop widgets to speed things up.”
