An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Colohouse recently acquired Hivelocity, expanding its offerings from colocation services to include private cloud infrastructure and VMware support services. The combined company operates under the Hivelocity name.
Colohouse offered data center hosting services for about ten years. Hivelocity is a strategic acquisition that significantly expands the combined company’s services.
The new company’s focus is on the middle market, offering services to organizations that need expertise to set up and manage data center infrastructure, handling everything except applications and data. In addition to the private cloud offering, Hivelocity brings to the combined company a VMware Cloud Service Provider partnership.
Hivelocity offers services to migrate existing VMware customers to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and adopt Broadcom’s new licensing program (core based rather than compute based pricing), or to set up VCF for new customers.
The new company offers complete hybrid infrastructure services from the cloud to the data center, including a broad range of hardware options, cloud native automation, security, and simplified networking.
