SquareX: Enterprise browser-native threat defense

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

SquareXSquareX approaches the browser as the primary attack surface for enterprises, by triaging and remediating security issues through a browser-native extension paired with a managed threat and response platform.

Clearly, the browser has become more than just a way to render web pages. The massive rise of SaaS and mobile apps replaced conventional application clients, while newer application delivery approaches such as WebAssembly continue to push more functionality to the browser edge, along with all the identity information and data those browser workloads use.

Dealing with malicious links in emails that point to malware downloads is still important, but the firm researches unique vulnerabilities, like an overlay of lesser-known exploits like browser hijackings, reassembly and regex issues that float atop the well-known MITRE ATT&CK framework.

Offending sessions and sources can be blocked, reported and isolated from there, while the platform provides instructions for rebuilding user sessions and mitigating the vulnerabilities with preventative policies.
