Since our last coverage of AccuKnox in 2024, this Kubernetes-native cloud and application security posture management vendor has rapidly expanded its offerings to provide a complete platform for securing and testing the distributed software supply chain, including cloud infrastructure, applications, workloads, and AI models and datasets.
There’s also a new cost-conscious SIEM and conversational AI interface to accompany its SOC control plane, though the solution still drives alert escalations and recommendations to any security platforms the customer retains.
One of the primary vulnerabilities we are seeing with AI-driven applications is that while so-called “open” AI models and inference engines are opaque to a security engineer looking for root causes, bad actors and downloadable AI agents can insert malicious code executables and prompts into models and training data that circumvent the heuristic rules of a prompt firewall. AccuKnox quarantines unknown agents and suspicious users into a safe sandbox to catch erratic prompt behavior as well as known threat patterns before they can inject prompts into production systems.
