StackGen: Agentic AI for Infrastructure Provisioning and Governance

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we last spoke with StackGen in March, 2024, they were doing business as AppCD.

Then, as now, they simplify and automate application infrastructure provisioning.

They have recently added agentic AI functionality their platform. They also recently acquired OpsVerse and are adding their Aiden agent and observability capabilities into the platform.

StackGen can analyze application code and recommend infrastructure configurations.

Developers can specify infrastructure intents using natural language, such as the intent to use Node.JS for the front end and Redis for the database.

Developers can also define their infrastructure requirements using StackGen’s visual GUI.

Once infrastructure requirements are generated or defined, StackGen generates a Terraform script, stores it in GitHub, and executes it transparently to the developers.

StackGen uses OpsVerse’s Aiden as an AI agent orchestrator, intelligently invoking other agents for building, governing, remediating, and optimizing infrastructure as required for an application.

They layer the AI agents on their existing infrastructure management foundation, and have added a customer experience layer on top of the agentic AI layer.

StackGen infrastructure capabilities include cloud asset discovery and optimization, configuration governance, compliance, drift detection and remediation, and application stack analysis. AI agents improve productivity and automation for these capabilities.
