An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
Observe seems to be in the catbird seat of the modern observability engineering space, logging funding and large-scale customer success stories since our last coverage of them as a fresher startup in 2022.
Observe architected a non-indexed semantic data layer and fast knowledge graph that allows live LLM prompt querying and analysis of massive ‘all-in’ telemetry and traffic data sets that are responsively hot, even if the original assets are stored in dirt-cheap cold tiers of a Snowflake data lake.
The AI SRE use case augments the usual observability ‘single pane of glass’ with automated error triage and issue promotion. From there, even non-technical users can ask it to investigate or even remediate the error (though most companies choose to keep a human in the loop for fixes and approvals).
Another interesting capability is their new o11y.ai service that sits in the IDE environment, auto-instrumenting and providing look-ahead code assistance for TypeScript and NodeJS developers. As a coding assistant, it can then provide context into the observability data lake to coding agents and suggest on-the-fly resolutions at change time.
