ThreatModeler: Security architecture intelligence for teams and agents

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

ThreatModelerThreatModeler automates security architecture and compliance reviews to help development teams and business stakeholders identify and remediate potential application and infrastructure vulnerabilities at both design and change time.

If you’ve ever managed a critical development project, whether it’s a cloud migration or a new retail site feature, you know how the meeting goes. You get excited business stakeholders and engineers together in a room, you talk about the requirements for about half an hour, then a buzz-kill infosec pro starts speaking up: “Why didn’t you tell us about this change earlier?” “How are secrets kept while the transaction settles?” “Can an agent hijack a session token here?”

In today’s hybrid development environments, both CI/CD automation and coding agents are pushing code and architectural changes into production faster than ever. There will never be enough knowledgeable security pros with the time and awareness to objectively review security posture in the context of required business functionality and the enterprise’s changing IT landscape.

ThreatModeler’s specialized language models were trained on millions of observed production threats in order to recognize both commonly understood (MITRE and CSA Maestro) vulnerabilities and emerging environment-specific threat patterns. This allows teams and authorized agents to interrogate the application estate’s security posture, and discover the specific changes that may introduce risk. Severe issues or novel threats are then reproduced and remediated by the team, or brought to the limited attention of security pros when a deeper investigation is needed.

We last covered ThreatModeler in 2022.
