An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
In Parallel provides a shared context memory layer for collaborating in AI workspaces for strategic and tactical coordination of work by deriving business intent from organizational data including human meetings and communications.
Over the course of the last two years, we’ve seen enterprises rush headlong into using AI to automate many aspects of work. Often, the goal is to replace existing deterministic business processes, that are slow to change with their predefined workflows and preprogrammed decision heuristics, with more agile non-deterministic agents that can ingest data and adapt work output on the fly.
As it turns out, AI is pretty good at consuming structured and unstructured data, and making correlations between data for research, documentation, and analytics purposes. But AI is actually quite bad at reasoning and making decisions that are aligned with business goals. Attempting to train an AI model with even more organizational data will not actually solve this dilemma, given the amount of noise and AI slopwork out there now poisoning models, which causes people to spend more time on fixing results and rework rather than choosing the correct path.
In Parallel has researched the “Coordination Tax” of time executives spend auditing, maintaining, and correcting the drift between AI inputs and work outputs, and the business intent of the work. They say this tax may consume more than 2 full days (!!!) of an average work week.
When leaders or managers drop into a project in Claude or ChatGPT or another cowork LLM, the context layer culls communications from emails, documents, databases, Slack and Teams, etc, with special weight given to the intentional content of business meetings. This context memory allows the human to direct work toward individual goals “for me” and make informed decisions aligned with the organization’s complex goals, without having to write or repeat massive prompts to fix AI inputs and outputs.
Intellyx hot take: It’s not another dashboard, and it’s not just about pulling in more data and notes. The ability to tie the intent of the individuals in a business meeting or customer service touchpoint to directional business outcomes sounds a bit magical, but is really about keeping executives engaged in the flow and making the important decisions, rather than atrophying in endless review/approve/fix cycles.
Intellyx cold take: Is this the future of work? This Finland-based startup utilizes AI, while blending a lot of different technology spaces we’ve covered over the years: BPM, DPA, RPA bots, no-code apps, process mining, workflow automation, continuous optimization, strategic planning, and even employee performance measurement, but all of this may be hard for executives to conceptualize without trying it.
