Cloud Foundry: Platform innovation for the cloud native community

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update from KubeCon 2025

Cloud Foundry logo Intellyx BCThe open source Cloud Foundry Foundation was back at KubeCon with their Korifi opinionated platform for Kubernetes with multi-language support, and new Paketo Buildpacks for container images that fit right into platform engineering and internal development provisioning flows.

There are many aspects of the Cloud Foundry platform that are appealing to AI developers as well, including support for burst and shard workloads. Better still, coding agents love using the buildpacks as container deployment tools.

“The promise of Cloud Foundry has always been to predictably take code and run it in the cloud. Now, if you generate code with AI, you can use Cloud Foundry all the way from prompt to deployment in the cloud,” said Ram Iyengar, Chief Evangelist, Cloud Foundry Foundation.

There’s also a great modernization story here. As it turns out, managers of ‘big iron’ enterprise systems like SAP and VMware are numerous and active community members supporting Cloud Foundry’s opinionated architectures and buildpacks for safely migrating their services and applications to the cloud.

Note: We last briefed Cloud Foundry in 2023, but you should check out our 2025 Intellyx Analyst Guide to Cloud Foundry for some in-depth analysis of how teams are overcoming architectural and cloud deployment constraints with CFF’s community-driven projects.
