An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
Since the ubiquitous adoption of smartphones in the 2010s, we’ve seen the proliferation of millions of mobile apps, each competing for user attention in a zero-sum game. When AI apps like ChatGPT, Claude, Apple Intelligence and Google Gemini came onto the scene, they basically became new chat apps cohabiting the crowded screen space on iOS and Android devices.
Brain Technologies has been hard at work trying to make human-computer interaction look easy by dispensing with the wall-of-apps paradigm entirely, with agents leveraging an extensive set of AI patents and inference models to transform workflow state, user context, and data services into custom-built user interfaces on the fly.
The goal here isn’t to make a better multi-functional app, but instead give human users the ability to use natural language to achieve whatever ends they are looking for from their device, agentically using whatever apps and web resources are relevant, in order to continually improve personalization and contextual fidelity with the human user’s intentions over time.
As we hinted in our previous coverage of Brain in 2021, the firm has garnered interest from major global telcos and carriers who are receptive to this human-centric approach as a subscriber alternative to the walled OS gardens. Joint prototyping and research has led to the launch of a new Natural AI Phone. The first Natural OS-native devices already went on sale in April 2026 through Softbank in the Japan market, and perhaps you’ll someday see Brain in hands around the world.
