RSA Security: Sovereign human and agent workforce identity governance

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

RSA SecurityRSA Security monitors and manages passwordless human and non-human agent identities and authentication atop multiple access providers though a secure sovereign gateway and management layer built for highly regulated and mission-critical IT estates.

Most large companies and government entities that acquire new companies and divisions inherit a patchwork of disconnected identity providers over the years, and a consortium of software vendors introduced the FIDO alliance to attempt to standardize authentication regimes across big players like Microsoft’s Entra ID and Palo Alto Networks. Now, with AI agents entering the space in droves, sometimes with agents creating more agents, just keeping up with an expanding attack surface seems nigh impossible.

RSA seeks to be a neutral broker above this fray with their Sovereign AI Cloud solution, which can also be deployed on-prem or in a hybrid fashion. In addition to the core SecureID and ID Plus AIM solutions, its new AI-driven Agent ID seeks out agent workloads, logging every action of every agent and matching each to provable human authorization and control.

Intellyx hot take: Sovereign AI is more than a buzzword, and when vendors fail to respect sovereignty, governments and vertical industries will step in with their own compliance regimes such NIST2 in the US and DORA in Europe. RSA seems well-positioned to help enterprises conform and govern identity and authentication to meet emerging regulatory requirements.

Intellyx cold take: I’ve been particularly keen to meet RSA Security to understand how this well-recognized vendor sits within the enterprise security ecosystem since it became a standalone business in 2022 after spinning off the RSAC security event we’ve covered every year since 2017. In the minds of some software marketers, the two brands are still intertwined, no matter how much both entities clarify the split — kind of a mixed blessing.
