Forbes asked me to pen a retrospective for my final article of the year. To this end, I reviewed the articles I had written in 2015, and fascinating pattern soon emerged. The top four articles by pageviews, while each having a different topic from the others, still reflect a consistent theme of disruption.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that for each of these articles, an update is in order. Here, then, is the latest news from the articles that you, the reader, were most interested in – often in the words of the article subjects themselves.
Number 4: Salesforce Acquisition: ‘End Of Beginning’ For Cloud, May 1, 2015.
The rumors of Salesforce’s imminent acquisition turned out to be unfounded – but I still called into question whether acquiring Salesforce would make sense as a way for an acquirer to leapfrog its way to the cloud.
In 2015, however, the cloud story was mostly a red herring for Salesforce. For it, the cloud is a done deal. The real disruption is the Salesforce ecosystem – a point I drove home in a subsequent article in September.
