David Linthicum, a leading analyst on all things cloud whom I have worked with over the years is an expert in this area. David has the unique combination of “been there, done that” both from a real-world implementation perspective as well as CEO of start-ups and most recently analyzing and consulting to make sure those adopting cloud don’t go too far astray. In this Forbes article, Jason Bloomberg interviews Linthicum.
In the words of Linthicum … “To take enterprise IT to the next level we need modern, agile architecture in place,” Linthicum insists. “IT is becoming a hindrance to the business. We need to think hugely differently.” In order for IT to get out of the hindrance business, they need to make business users accountable, but also make it easy for the business to see exactly what is going on. When it comes to understanding cloud services consumption, the information needs to be easy to access, quick to digest and of course reliable.
