An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Paris, France-based Intersec is a streaming data analytics vendor that primarily focuses on mobile operators, giving them contextual marketing and geolocation intelligence based upon real-time analysis of the information they have about individual customers and their mobile devices.
A typical example of Intersec’s value proposition: as mobile providers roll out new levels of service (for example, LTE), those providers can text phone users whose devices support the new level of service but who don’t yet have the new service as part of their plan at the moment they enter an area with coverage for the new service. This text is specific to the location of the user and the details of their plan, and can present them with a personalized upgrade offer.
Intersec is now expanding into the Internet of Things (IoT). For example, it is running a proof of concept with the City of Paris, helping the city gather data about users of its free municipal Wi-Fi services. It is also rolling out data analysis services for major venues like stadiums.
The Intellyx Take: Contextual marketing and geolocation intelligence are especially valuable for retail brands, and thus Intersec has a massive untapped opportunity on its hands. However, its software runs in mobile operators’ locations, so in order to target industries like retail, it will need to partner with mobile operators.
As expansion into the US is an immediate goal, Intellyx recommends partnering with a major US mobile operator in order to bring its data analysis capabilities to a broader market.
