An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Enterprise organizations are beginning to realize the benefits of software-defined everything. Decoupling the physical layer from the software layer is enabling organizations to achieve greater flexibility, scale, and speed — exactly what they need in the digital era.
Organizations may realize some of the most significant benefits of this trend with Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WANs) where they can utilize it to rapidly add sites, change configurations and take advantage of non-traditional connections — bringing digital flexibility to a physical and organizational infrastructure. SD-WAN vendor, CloudGenix, however, is taking it one step further.
Their mantra of “Networking without Networking. Routing without routing,” belies a much more radical shift in approach. Moving beyond a packet-centric view of networking, the CloudGenix approach revolves around application sessions. This shift enables IT organizations to begin looking at their infrastructure from a value-driven perspective and allows them to shift their focus from the technical aspects of WAN architecture to leveraging it to meet rapidly changing business demand.
