Artificial Intelligence (AI) is infiltrating every facet of enterprise operations today. As it does, many organizations are now looking to AI as a source of competitive advantage. Skymind provides an open source deep learning platform that it believes will help organizations rise to this challenge. First, the company believes that enterprise organizations need an open and neutral platform that enables them to use a variety of tools, but still enjoy ‘one-click’ deployment. Moreover, because they are a java-based platform, they inherently offer enterprise organizations the performance and breadth they need to deploy and manage AI-solutions in production and at scale.
The company believes that as an open source platform it can serve as the AI backbone for the enterprise. Its goal is to get AI out of the lab and make it practical, in part, by acting as a bridge between the Java and Python ecosystems that are at the heart of AI development and operations. Moreover, as a community-backed, open source project, it believes it offers enterprise data science teams a secure platform on which to build competitive differentiation and industrialize their AI initiatives.
