An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
Since we last wrote about Unit4 in October 2015, the vendor has moved its architecture to cloud-based microservices, positioning it to compete in today’s modern IT environments.
It remains focused on enterprise resource planning (ERP) for four services-centric verticals: professional services, public (government) services, education, and nonprofit.
However, since these types of companies don’t deal with products, Unit4’s offerings are different from traditional, product-centric ERP applications.
Instead, Unit4 leverages its modular microservices architecture to help its customers handle people-related tasks like managing time on tasks, projects, cases, and other human activities.
Because of its focus on people, Unit4 essentially provides a ‘front office’ alternative to traditional ‘back office’ ERP applications that are more systems of record than the system of engagement that Unit4 brings to its customers.
