An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
In addition to having a rare two-character ‘X1.com’ domain name, X1 was also an IdeaLab startup for desktop file search and knowledge management from the early 00’s that may have been ahead of its time. In today’s world of GDPR and PII compliance, data breaches, social whistleblowing, and related lawsuits, it has become revitalized.
Back then, most people didn’t realize that anything and everything you did online, especially on a device used for work, might show up as evidence in court. Maybe employees still don’t get it today, and they are happily watching pirated BitTorrent movies and ranting in radical political chat rooms while still on the corporate WAN through the hotel wi-fi.
X1 is used by corporate, legal and government professionals to help investigate, discover, analyze and remediate the data, files and content on endpoint computing devices, corporate servers, partner networks and websites. With privacy regulations on the rise, and the repercussions of negligent, unethical or criminal use of company and personal data making headlines, getting a clear look in the mirror on data security and relevance is a reality companies will need to adjust to.
