Enterprise cloud computing is entering a consolidation phase not unlike our home entertainment systems did a few years ago. As new audio/video components came into vogue, each new player added to the stack came with its own set of wires, along with a proliferation of remote controls.
Eventually, many users gave up on negotiating the complex set of remote procedures required to watch a show and opted for a simpler managed service. The same fatigue is happening today in enterprise IT departments, worn out by the need to configure and manage a portfolio of VMs and stacks across compute resources in multiple public and private clouds.
CloudBolt is a newer entrant in the battle for single-pane-of-glass provisioning and management of hybrid cloud environments. Their platform leverages blueprint tie-ins with vmware vCenter, AWS, Azure, GCP and other private/public cloud resource providers, as well as integrations with most commonly known configuration, delivery and service orchestration vendors. The company is finding traction with some major customers and service partners using their environment delivery and monitoring solution.
CloudBolt aims to strike a balance of operational visibility, self-service simplicity and cost control that makes a portfolio of hybrid cloud environments easier to manage and consume.
