Pinpoint has a unique management-based approach to accelerating the software pipeline. Rather than providing tools for automating and moving bits around to speed up releases, it is interpreting signals and code from the repository, to delivery, and production monitoring, in order to optimize the personnel and R&D spend side of the software lifecycle.
It’s no secret that most enterprise software fails to get delivered according to projected estimates. “Leaders face a low signal-to-noise ratio,” says Jeff Haynie, Pinpoint’s CEO. “This causes reactive rather than predictive management of technology projects and research.”
Predictable software planning seems like a tall order, given the multitude of distinct work processes, development environments and languages at play within any enterprise. Pinpoint uses machine learning to recognize collaboration patterns (for instance, Agile/Scrum vs. waterfall), resource and event-driven changes, and individual developer habits, to inform analytics that lift the curtain on this largely unaddressed aspect of the software supply chain.
