There are a handful of new mantras floating around the tech industry calling on organizations to be cloud-first, mobile-first, and so on. But perhaps one of the more compelling call-to-arms is for companies to become data-driven. Sinequa thinks that while this is on the right track, it doesn’t go far enough.

The company, which holds itself out as a holistic, end-to-end cognitive search and analytics platform, thinks that creating competitive value in the market will demand that organizations become information-driven. It aims to help enterprises harness the knowledge, expertise, and insights necessary to make information-driven decisions with business context. The company’s platform uses an extensive library of pre-built connectors to consume data from data sources whether they be on-premises or in the cloud, and which may include everything from traditional applications to data lakes — and about everything else in between. The company then uses proprietary natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms to extract insights from this combination of structured and unstructured data.

Since the last time we spoke with the company, it has added to its long list of enterprise customers and has continued to expand its market reach. It reports that it now has 2.5 million users ingesting over 5 billion documents and over 100 billion records. The company, long-focused on large enterprises, has created a set of verticalized solutions and areas of focus for the pharmaceutical, finance, and manufacturing sectors as it refines its focus on the targeted value its customers can achieve with its solution.
