Organizations have been collecting data for decades. Entire industry sectors have sprung up to help them manage and present it. Despite these efforts, however, most enterprises fail to truly take advantage of all the data they collect. The reason? The industry created most of these tools for data analysts rather than data consumers. As a result, while organizations got very good at collecting, processing, and presenting data, they were not so good at finding the insights within it or making decisions based on it.
