Radware: Securing a new cloud-native estate

Radware is another one of those cool vendors from my software wayback machine, hearkening back to the days when scanning XML streams through the web firewall and analyzing WS-Security settings were new, and the concept of containers and malicious bots were not even a blink in anyone’s eye.

But this company is continuing to innovate and acquire new products, making clear moves to stake a claim on the cloud-native security front. Beyond their well-known DDoS protection and software-defined network security platform, you find newer capabilities for Kubernetes and container security, IoT and edge security, and RPA bot management and protection.

“It’s not just CIOs and CISOs concerned with security anymore, we’re seeing business executives looking at this as a reputation management and innovation enablement problem,” says Radware CMO Anna Convery-Pelletier. “For instance, we’re finding our retail and travel customers need to deal with bad bots that can rapidly create and abandon carts, and disrupt inventory.”

The company recently acquired the RPA bot management vendor ShieldSquare, and created a new microservices workload protection product, while packaging their platform in a cloud-native containerized deployment model.
