CloudSimple: VMware-as-a-Service in Public Clouds

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

VMware has been running its vSphere platform in AWS for over a year now – but it reportedly took the company at least two or three years to get it to work properly.

CloudSimple has done the same thing for vSphere on Azure (and a GCP version is in the works). Given the complexities of implementing such technology, VMware has chosen to partner with CloudSimple for its Azure and GCP support.

The VMworld audience may have been skeptical, but a live demo of a workload moving from on-premises vSphere to vSphere on Azure via vMotion assuaged all doubts.
