SentryOne emerged from a SQL performance monitoring tool for Microsoft DBAs into a fully featured DataOps platform for managing and migrating multiple flavors of Microsoft databases within hybrid IT environments.
You might think optimizing for one vendor would limit the growth of the company. Fortunately, the addressable market for monitoring and porting MS SQL databases between on-premises datacenters and leading cloud services like Azure and AWS is vast and continues to grow, and specialization adds value for a lot of large customers.
SentryOne can also be incorporated as a best of breed Microsoft database optimization and management solution within larger heterogeneous DevOps tool chains via API calls and interaction with upstream IT Ops and ITSM, and downstream performance management tools.
While the company may offer as many as 70 unique services to the MS DBA or DevOps team, their solution has three primary functions, starting with cloud-enabled performance monitoring and optimization, and expanding to automate once labor-intensive documentation and testing functions.
