An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
We’re so comfortable with the layers of abstraction that virtualization and cloud computing bring to the enterprise that it’s easy to forget that underneath everything is ‘bare metal’ hardware. But RackN hasn’t.
RackN automates the provisioning of bare metal hardware in data centers of all sizes. It can handle everything from firmware BIOS updates to operating system installs and configurations to the configuration of network infrastructure.
RackN uses a modern, API-driven approach, and works with any operating system, platform, and architecture. It is also especially useful for provisioning edge infrastructure that might consist of large numbers of ‘mini’ data centers.
RackN also touts what it is not: it is not SaaS, a managed service, or a virtualization system.
