An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Biami offers a process automation framework for rapidly building automations based upon business-oriented descriptions of process logic, for example, what a business user might enter in an Excel spreadsheet.
Biami’s framework is ‘headless’ because it doesn’t include a visual workflow creation tool, and thus it doesn’t fall into the digital process automation (DPA) market segment – a segment that combines workflow automation and low-code.
Instead, Biami’s offering is closer to robotic process automation (RPA) in that it provides a coding environment for developers to create process logic. However, the company would rather partner with RPA players for their legacy application scripting ability – and thus, Biami isn’t RPA, either.
Where Biami is likely to get the bulk of its customer traction are with companies that have some developer expertise on staff and would prefer to create their own front-ends, for example for IT process automation for cloud or Internet hosting providers or managed service providers (MSPs) who want to build customized interfaces for their customers.
