An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
The conventional wisdom is that low-code platforms target professional developers while no-code platforms are better suited for business users, aka ‘citizen developers,’ to build applications.
The situations were a pro might need to hand-code with a low-code platform are rare, but companies appreciate the option, just in case. On the other hand, such organizations consider no-code platforms that don’t have the hand-coding option to be too lightweight for broad enterprise use.
Unqork flies in the face of this conventional wisdom. The company unabashedly offers a no-code platform that provides no opportunity for hand coding. The closest it comes is the ability to import CSS content on the front end and accessing custom code via APIs on the back end.
In addition, Unqork’s platform is strictly SaaS, with no on-premises option. Each customer gets its own tenant, but Unqork rigorously keeps every customer on the same version of the platform to ensure consistency. Furthermore, mobile apps must be able to access the Internet.
In spite of these uncommon characteristics, Unqork offers the governance and integration capabilities that nevertheless position it as enterprise-class for those customers that are willing to put up with its limitations.
