CloudBees: Rounding out Software Delivery Management with Release Orchestration

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

When we first featured CloudBees in December 2018, it was essentially the Jenkins company – Jenkins being the popular open source build automation tool.

When we next touched base with the company in June 2019, it was fresh off its acquisition of Electric Cloud (release automation and build acceleration), and had just announced its acquisition of Rollout (feature flagging).

Over a year later, CloudBees has completed its integration of these products into a fully-featured Software Delivery Management (SDM) platform that comprises continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and release orchestration with feature flagging.

This full lifecycle DevOps automation platform also provides value stream management (VSM). We would go so far as to say SDM and VSM are two sides of the same coin.

Furthermore, CloudBees supports software build orchestration in dynamic deployment environments like Kubernetes, positioning it well for the world of cloud-native application development.
