JourneyApps: The Speed of Low-Code, the Productivity of ‘Pro-Code’

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

JourneyApps offers a low-code platform for industrial and field applications. Its core differentiators are its offline support, complex integrations, support for complex data structures, and support for both synchronous and asynchronous interactions.

JourneyApps supports ruggedized applications, including one-handed apps, and provides for extensive data interactions in offline (airplane) mode, with sophisticated two-way synching capabilities.

Today, JourneyApps is announcing OXIDE, its new integrated development environment (IDE).

Unlike most low-code tools that center on visual interactions like drag-and-drop and wizards, thus diminishing the need for hand-coding, OXIDE takes a different approach. It provides a fully featured ‘pro-code’ (i.e., hand-coding) IDE, which it supplements with the addition of low-code functionality like WYSIWYG user interface construction and display.

OXIDE supports React, with other JavaScript frameworks in the works. The IDE generates an XML-based declarative representation of applications the JourneyApps platform can execute directly.
