An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
1Kosmos produces the BlockID solution, providing identity authentication services that combine live verification and biometrics with official records on a private blockchain backend to allow end customers, employees and agents to passwordlessly verify themselves without exposing private data.
Since our initial coverage of 1Kosmos in 2018, the company has made strides on building industry-vertical specific versions of its service, which can provide attestations of identity from a cryptographically secured private ledger, to be included within software catering to healthcare, financial, government and consumer retail sectors.
The ‘biometric’ aspect of this ID verification process isn’t exactly the same as fingerprint or faceID comparison steps you might be familiar with, as BlockID can conduct a ‘liveness test’ at signup and verification time, cueing and checking for hard-to-spoof user behaviors such as blinking or talking in view of the device’s camera.
Most notable though is 1Kosmos’ continued advance of business partnerships. The company was recently certified as an identity provider to the FIDO (Fast Identity Online) Alliance, and has seen market traction as an OEM provider of authentication services to a top 5 Telco firm.
