Okera provides a universal data authorization layer that offers fine-grained data access control (FGAC) and governance capabilities across multiple cloud and conventional data management solutions and identity management services.
Since we last checked in with Okera in 2019, the firm has hit stride in helping data-intensive industries and system integrators responsibly control how data is used, as companies are at the same time being driven by forces such as COVID and remote, globalized work to lean more heavily on their digital collaboration capabilities than ever before.
Their dynamic data access platform allows read/write privileges to be defined for users and systems — down to the column, row or value level — as governance policy, automatically enforced, and monitored with a centralized reporting and auditing dashboard. Of course, other leading data management and AIM tools can also programmatically call on these capabilities.
This distributed stewardship model of data authorization across multiple teams and systems allows innovation and complex work to proceed without exposing private or proprietary data through intentional exfiltration attempts or unintentional carelessness.
