MachineMetrics: Hammering utilization on the autonomous IIoT edge

MachineMetrics logoAn Intellyx Brain Candy Update

In our previous visit with MachineMetrics in 2019, they were working in the rarified space of converting factory floors into interconnected and measurable automation fabrics of IIoT (Industrial IoT) devices.

As the rest of their ecosystem evolves, and MachineMetrics emerges from a new round of funding, they are starting to explore more intricate use cases involving semi-autonomous operation of these webs of connected machines, with a view toward increasing factory capacity and equipment utilization in real terms.

Industrial operators and intelligent applications alike can monitor factory flow and control the usage and maintenance of dozens, hundreds or thousands of unique sensors, devices and robotic workstations in today’s connected factory.

The vision of a connected edge cloud for applications and devices should, by rights, extend well beyond our phones, cars, cities and business applications — allowing intelligent optimization to reach into the way we produce goods that contribute to our global GDP.
