An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Today’s enterprise architecture (EA) tools all share many of the same features: a way to import data about applications and processes in order to support visual diagrams of business capabilities, processes, and application portfolios that help enterprise architects document and plan the organization’s move from an ‘as-is’ state to a more desirable ‘to-be’ state.
Even though BlueDolphin from ValueBlue offers these common capabilities in its SaaS EA offering, there are two ways that the tool stands out from the crowd of similar products.
First, ValueBlue has emphasized usability in Blue Dolphin’s user interface in order to simplify its use by a wider range of people than the enterprise architects.
For instance, while BlueDolphin supports the Archimate EA modeling language and BPMN (the Business Process Model and Notation standard), users of the tools don’t have to be proficient with these two notations to get value from the tool.
BlueDolphin also offers a range of strategy and design templates that provide a helpful starting point for defining the desired future state of an organization’s EA given any of a combination of possible initial states and business priorities.
