Ori: Cloud-Native Control Plane for Network Abstraction and Global Workload Orchestration

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Ori offers an edge to cloud infrastructure management platform that abstracts underling local and wide-area network elements and provides a control plane that abstracts global Kubernetes cluster deployments in support of edge and cloud computing scenarios.

The company’s intent-based networking capabilities offer cloud-native zero-trust cybersecurity. Its container orchestration control plane works across Kubernetes deployments today and will cover the gamut of deployment environments including virtual machines and on-premises infrastructure in the future.

Ori provides an edge-centric version of its platform for enterprises, a multi-cloud option that independent software vendors can use to support their products in the cloud, and a multi-access edge computing (MEC) version for telcos that provides a control plane for private and public 5G networks.

There are other vendors that are separately offering cloud-native zero trust, global container support, and edge computing control planes, but Ori stands out with its ambition to offer all three – a wicked hard problem.
