Pointee: Global optimization for multiple RPA suites

PointeeAn Intellyx BrainCandy Brief

Pointee analyzes the behavior of multiple RPA bot types and routines running within an enterprise’s process automation estate, pointing out areas for improving cost and performance.

As companies ramp up RPA efforts, they often see an initial surge in value as the first wave of automated bots start fulfilling manual tasks. Early ROI quickly gives way to technical debt as more teams get involved adding more process automation from a variety of vendor suites.

Performance lags, process interdependencies, redundancies and non-utilized services contribute to this bot bloat, but by far the worst cost overruns are hidden in human bot maintenance costs incurred during live production support.

Pointee uses a neural network to model the activity of RPA bot fleets along performance, utility and cost dimensions in 3D space, showing their behavior much like flocks of birds in the wild. The net-net of this cool trick is that maintenance teams can quickly spot outliers and get recommended actions that drastically reduce their MTTR for remediating bot issues and cost overruns.
