Nastel: Integration Infrastructure Management from Legacy Message Queueing to Apache Kafka

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Nastel tracks and monitors messages as they traverse various middleware platforms, giving enterprises visibility into the accuracy and performance of those messages.

Nastel’s roots are monitoring and tracing messages within IBM’s legacy middleware, including IBM MQ (formerly MQSeries and later WebSphere MQ) and IBM WebSphere Message Broker.

Today, it has expanded well beyond the IBM ecosystem to cover middleware offerings for both on-premises and cloud, including the streaming-centric Apache Kafka, as well as file transfer technology, blockchain, and APIs.

Nastel also provides middleware configuration management that can identify and correct misconfigurations that might lead to performance, compliance, or security problems.
