An Intellyx Brain Candy Update
At global ERP powerhouse SAP’s flagship Sapphire 2023 conference in Orlando this week, SAP announced a deepening of its partnership with Microsoft to augment its AI capabilities.
SAP has been working on its AI message for years, as I covered in an April 2019 article for SiliconANGLE.
SAP is calling upon its collaboration with Microsoft to integrate SAP SuccessFactors with Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot in Viva Learning, as well as Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service for accessing natural language models.
The high point of SAP’s messaging at Sapphire, however, was around sustainability. SAP announced ‘green ledger’ capabilities based on a new sustainability solution to empower customers to replace estimated or average carbon emissions values with actual, verified data within individual business transactions.
Given SAP customers use its software to manage and track business transactions end-to-end across their organizations, empowering them to include carbon emissions data in every transaction gives customers a powerful tool for managing sustainability – a tool no other vendor would be able to offer any SAP ERP customer.
