Permit.io: Combining Relationship-Based Access Control with Attribute-Based Access Control

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

When we last covered Permit.io in March 2022, the company had rolled out its cloud native authorization offering that provided no-code policy design and management.

permit.ioToday, the company combines relationship-based access control (REBAC) with the more established attribute-based access control (ABAC) to give its customers the greatest flexibility when configuring permissions for any type of endpoint.

Permit essentially offers plug-and-play authorization that works on either the front end via a proxy-based abstraction, as well as traditional or cloud native microservice back ends.

Permit works with any authentication technology and can generate ‘policy as code’ directly into Git.
