IBM Hybrid Cloud Mesh: Virtualized Networking for Hybrid IT with SaaS Dashboard

An Intellyx Brain Candy Update

Intellyx last covered IBM in January 2024, but we’ve been working with the company for years.

At last month’s Mobile World Congress, one of the high points of IBM’s story was the recently launched Hybrid Cloud Mesh.

The IBM Hybrid Cloud Mesh provides a virtualized networking environment that enables secure connectivity across edge, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.

The mesh virtualizes network connections to applications, front-ends, databases, and other endpoints via a straightforward, drag-and-drop interface.

The Hybrid Cloud Mesh depends upon gateways running either in clouds or on-premises. These gateways establish a secure layer 3-7 mesh. IBM delivers the mesh’s ‘single pane of glass’ dashboard control plane via SaaS.
