An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief
Verimatrix offers an extended threat defense (XTD) solution that scans native mobile apps for vulnerabilities and hardens them before deployment onto app stores, with endpoint security reporting and internally placed countermeasures to prevent unauthorized tampering and usage on potentially risky devices.
To truly embrace zero-trust security practices for mobile apps, it is wise to assume that every listing in an app store is constantly under surveillance by bots and code inspectors, and that every install of the app could be going onto a rooted device under the control of a hacker.
Developers can embed Verimatrix agentless defense measures into their app builds within the CI/CD process. Any authorized app publisher can then drag and drop the Android or iOS app binary into a no-code wizard, where it is signed and sealed for delivery to an app store.
Once the protected app is installed on a device, if it experiences anomalous behaviors, such as reverse engineering patterns, man-in-the-middle data interception attempts, or running on a jailbroken device with a code scanner, the app can automatically shut down, even if a malicious end user or bot attempts to reinstall the app.
An app security control plane displays threat events and analytics from the telemetry of a fleet of mobile installs, and developers can suspend the operations of any suspicious endpoint app instances remotely.
