Develocity is a software platform for improving developer productivity and experience, leveraging a combination of performance acceleration technologies, failure analytics, and toolchain observability.
Gradle is also the company behind the popular open-source product, Gradle Build Tool.
Develocity plugs in to Gradle, Maven, and Bazel and collects and analyzes build data to identify bottlenecks and eliminate flaky build and test errors. It reduces build and test time through the use of code caching and parallel test execution.
The deep toolchain observability capabilities of Develocity are input to AI models that help identify toolchain issues and tests that don’t need to be run for every build.
Develocity essentially models the questions that developers would ask the pipeline if they could to receive the feedback they need to ensure the build process runs smoothly and quickly. Develocity uses its observanbility data to reduce the time developers spend debugging and fixing the pipeline itself.
The Develocity plug-in feeds observability data into predictive AI, ingesting the code base to determine code coverage and avoid running tests that are guaranteed to succeed.
The build cache reduces time for generating and copying source code. Tests run transparently on a local machine or remotely in parallel on cloud agents.
